This Wednesday John Drage, Pastor of The Rock a church on the Mizzou campus will be with us. John always brings a great message. We'll be focusing on how to live with a mission. EVERYONE is welcome!
Here is the schedule for all those going tonight:

Today is Earth day and next Sunday our church will be doing it's part to help all of us take care of our planet- God's creation. So there won't be "normal" evening youth activities this weekend. But from 3-6pm we'll have a rock climbing wall and all sorts of booths set up where you can talk with experts, receive information, and get some hands on experience in living green. Of course they'll be food and our spring choir concert is at 6pm. See you there!
Drop off is at Living Word
at 9pm Friday night April 25, pick up is at 6am Saturday morning April 26 at
Living Word. We will be traveling to 3
different businesses in the area by church bus. First bowling from approximately 9:30-11, Lazer Tag from 12-4, and IHOP
from 5-6.
Don't miss out! Bring a bunch of friends! We need your RSVP by April 18!!!!!

Dear Parent,
Crestview Middle School.
In 2004 students in Rockwood were surveyed, and the results are less than encouraging:
*39 percent of Rockwood high school students report that
they binge drink regularly
*45 percent of Rockwood 8th-grade students say
they have been to a party where other kids their age have been drinking
*75 percent of our Rockwood 10th and 11th
grade students state they have been to parties where kids are drinking
Folks, we cannot sit passively while this taking place in our own backyard. I have been involved in this event’s sponsor; the Rockwood Drug-Free Schools Coalition, since February of 2007. An article about the coalition appeared in West Magazine, which piqued my interest; but it was being approached at a local QuikTrip to buy alcohol for an underaged student that motivated me to get involved. (I hope it goes without saying that I declined.)
I have seen the hard work of community leaders, teachers, and Rockwood staff make some strides in under-age alcohol consumption and abuse. But for deep change to take place we need much more than a coalition or even a meeting. Our schools are charged with teaching our children civic duty and imparting information. It is our job as Christians to instruct our children in what is right and wrong. Our students’ choices are guided by much more than what a health class or school assembly can give them.
Students hearing statistics (not unlike the ones I’ve fed you) or seeing crash reenactments might serve as a small deterrent from destructive drinking behavior, but a lifestyle flows out of faith.
So won’t you join me in supporting the efforts of our community? Will you take time out of your busy life to stand up against what the world wants our teens to think, and what too many of them are believing- that booze is what it takes to have fun? Here is what you can expect from the Town Hall Meeting:
If you have any questions, concerns, or even better- want to get more involved please contact me. I thank you for your consideration and again, strongly encourage you to attend this community wide event.
Much love,

Remember, this week there are no normal youth activities this Sunday. We will be having a workday in the new youth room starting at 3pm, also, Middle School Planning Team meets AT Living Word after GAP service from approximately 12:30-2.
It's actually happening!
Since we're in the process of moving, next week we're having a movie night at the Lindemann's house from 6:30-8. Here's a map, simply click on "get directions to here", type in your address, and voila! Bring a soda or snack to share.

To the delight of some and the dismay of others, we are not taking any of the youth room couches to the new building. So, this leaves us with two options:
1. Give the couches to someone who wants them. There are a couple that would be decent, but many of the couches really wouldn't be fit for human use.
2. Destroy them. If you're interested in this option, contact Adam or leave a comment.
It's going down on Friday.
Parents, don't worry it will be supervised and safe, there will not be any fire involved!. But those couches have gots to go!
On Feb. 3rd the youth organized the "Souper Bowl of Caring" which was an effort for our congregation to donate to those in need of food on a day when almost all of us certainly would have more than we needed. Thanks to the generous congregation, we collected over $2,400! Thanks to Pastor Michael for a sermon series that truly planted a seed in our hearts and to everyone who donated, people will be blessed through your giving!
